Evidence-based public policy plays a crucial role in addressing global challenges such as climate change, health crises, and social inequality. However, the gap between scientists and policymakers often hinders the integration of scientific research into decision-making processes. This article reviews key challenges, such as differences in priorities and work methods, and highlights the importance of effective communication between the two parties. Furthermore, the article proposes the establishment of policy research centers as a solution to strengthen collaboration and ensure swift policy responses, particularly in crisis situations. Adequate funding and a focus on research that aligns with societal needs are also essential. Thus, targeted research and responsive policies will support sustainable development and societal well-being.
