Abstract

Seizure is a sudden and very brief or temporary change in brain function that can be caused by abnormal activity and excessive electrical discharge. Febrile convulsions are seizures that occur at an increase in body temperature (rectal temperature above 380C) caused by extracranial processes. Treatment of febrile seizures can be done with pharmacological measures, non-pharmacological measures or a combination of both. Pharmacological action is to provide antipyretic drugs. While non-pharmacological measures are the act of giving antipyretic drugs, and providing warm compresses. Objective To apply nursing care to patients with a history of febrile seizures with the application of warm compresses in the UPTD Puskesmas Tanjung Baru area in 2022. The author uses a description method, with a research case study approach, this case study was carried out on 2 febrile seizure patients. This data was obtained by means of interviews, examinations, observation of activities, obtaining diagnostic records and reports. After taking nursing action for 3 days diagnosis: Hyperthermia associated with the disease process. In implementation, most of them are in accordance with the action plan that has been implemented. With the research on the application of warm compresses, patients and families understand more and make it easier to do so and are very necessary for the success of nursing care in patients so that the patient's nursing problems regarding hyperthermic intolerance can be implemented properly and some problems can be resolved. It is hoped that families by applying warm compresses to their children can be more optimal in dealing with hyperthermy.
